Vehicle Parking
A 10×40 outdoor space for $50 a month, on an open lot with room to swing a trailer around. Get the camper out of the driveway and still be able to hook up at five in the morning.
Recreational vehicles are used a handful of weekends a year and stored the rest of it. That is the whole arithmetic. A camper takes up a driveway for ten months so it can be useful for two, and in the meantime it is blocking a car, annoying a neighbour, or sitting somewhere a county setback says it should not.
Around here a lot of that gear exists because of Big South Fork — boats for the lake and the river, campers for the weekends, side-by-sides on trailers. It is worth owning. It is just not worth parking in front of your own house year-round.
Ten feet wide by forty feet long, marked on an open gravel lot. The important part is not the rectangle — it is the room around it. This is a rural lot, not a fenced urban yard where every foot was sold twice, so you have space to line up a trailer and back it in without a spotter and three attempts.
Worth being blunt so nobody arrives disappointed. There are no hookups — no power, no water, no sewer, no dump station. There is no covered or indoor parking. And nobody stays overnight in a vehicle on the lot; it is storage, not a campground. If what you want is a place to camp, the Big South Fork campgrounds are the right call and we will happily point you at them.
Not our rules, just the things that cause people grief. Drain the water lines and add antifreeze before the first hard freeze. Pull the battery or put it on a tender. Cover the tires if you have covers, and check the pressures when you come back rather than on the way to the ramp. Take anything out that a mouse would consider food. And drop by every few weeks — it is a five-minute stop that catches a soft tire or a bad seal before it becomes a repair bill.
