Getting here from Oneida
US-27 changes name three times between Oneida and us, which sounds worse than it is. It is one continuous road and you never leave it.
- From the middle of Oneida, get onto US-27 heading south — signed as Alberta Street downtown.
- Alberta Street becomes Alberta Avenue, then Scott Highway. Same road. Keep going south for about 7 miles.
- Past the Helenwood stretch, turn onto Glasshouse Road on the east side (your left) and follow it about a quarter mile to 344 Glasshouse Road.
- Keypad at the gate, then straight to your container or space.
About 7.3 miles, roughly 11 minutes. The live directions link below will put the final turn on your phone.
Why Oneida renters make the drive
Oneida is the biggest town in Scott County and the commercial centre of it — which means the storage problems here skew commercial as much as residential. Shops with more inventory than back room. Contractors who need tools somewhere other than a truck bed overnight. Churches and ball leagues with equipment that lives in someone's garage the other ten months of the year.
An 8×10 steel container at $70 a month solves most of that without a lease negotiation or a commercial rate. You get a keyed container behind a keypad gate, cameras on the lot, and the ability to pull in at 6 a.m. before the store opens.
The other half of our Oneida traffic is vehicles. Town lots fill up fast, and a boat on a trailer or a fifth-wheel parked on the street is a conversation nobody wants with a neighbour. A 10×40 outdoor space runs $50 a month and gets it out of the yard for the eight months a year you are not using it.
Landmarks along the way
- Alberta Street, downtown Oneida — the start of the drive; if you are on it heading south, you are already on route.
- The Helenwood stretch of US-27 — the last few miles before the facility.
- Big South Fork, west of Oneida — the put-ins and trailheads that most of our parked boats and campers are headed to.
- Huntsville and the TN-63 junction — right at the end of the drive, if you are coming back up from the interstate side.
